On Mission in Edmonds

Back in 2014 we planted Holy Trinity Edmonds. This was a joint effort, working across denominational lines and across diocesan lines within the Anglican Church in North America. Working together with Converge NW and a local Converge Baptist church (North Sound Church) in Edmonds and with the Diocese of Churches for the Sake of Others and our local diocese, Cascadia we saw kingdom collaboration at it’s finest. Over the several years since this church began we have seen God do incredible things. About two and a half years into planting the church another denomination contacted us about using their building after their local congregation closed their doors. This has led to a wonderful partnership with yet another Christian denomination, Open Bible. We’ve seen the church continue to grow, even in the midst of a global pandemic, and since we started we have seen over 45 baptisms and over 50 people confirmed by our Bishop.

After planting HTE our next adventure involved us partnering again with the Diocese of Cascadia, the Diocese of C4SO, and Converge NW (North Sound Church and Bethel Baptist Church) to plant All Saints Anglican Church in Everett Washington. Getting to play a major role in planting another church while we were just a few years old ourselves was a gift to us and something we hope to do more of in the future.

Just over six years into planting this church our next project is something we are very excited about. Led by Deacon Diane Steward we are laying the ground work to start a legal aid clinic to serve immigrant and refuge populations in our area. Dc. Diane has been studying, taking certification tests, raising money, and developing a team over the past eighteen months. While the pandemic has slowed things down a bit we are still making progress every day toward serving immigrants in our community. Along with a legal aid clinic we hope to develop other services that will benefit immigrant and refugee communities. Services that will help them learn English, help them get settled, and pair them with others who can help them learn to navigate a new environment and support them in friendship.
